Dear friends of Calliope Massage Studio,
Hey y’all… I know you are probably sick of the deluge of emails and updates from every business you ever gave an email address to, so I’ll keep this to the point.
As a massage therapist, I already have pretty stringent hygiene habits. I wash my hands religiously, wipe down all the surfaces in the treatment room with sanitizer, and prepare the massage table with fresh linens that have been washed in hot water and bleach.
With the current environment, all of these procedures continue to be in place and I am taking it up several notches. Every surface that gets touched- from door knobs, to the tablet and credit card machine, to the seating, to the pens and intake clipboard- are being cleaned and sanitized between every single client that comes in. You may also notice an increase in times during the session that I use alcohol or sanitizer on my hands to help prevent any cross contamination.
There is also ample hand sanitizer around the office and a sink with soap, all of which you are welcome to make use of for yourself.
For right now, I am still open and taking appointments. This is a very stressful time and providing a place to facilitate relaxation and pain relief is valuable. And, to be honest, as a small business, the bills keep coming in.
However, I am closely monitoring information and protocols from the Centers for Disease Control (CDC), World Health Organization (https://www.who.int/emergen…/diseases/novel-coronavirus-2019) (WHO), and any local agencies as they become available.
I am temporarily suspending my cancellation policy. If you are feeling ill at all or if you have had contact with someone who was ill, please feel free to bow out of your session. Please, just give me a heads up, it will be greatly appreciated. I, in turn, will also communicate and cancel if I am feeling ill at all.
Lastly, to my clients who are in populations that are at higher risk: older adults, those living with chronic illnesses, or those who are immunocompromised, you may want to reconsider an appointment at this time.
I value your patronage and support so very much. If staying at home is the right call for you, consider supporting the business by purchasing a gift certificate to be used when we all get through this.
My promise is to always prioritize transparency, communication, and safety in this space.
